The best AI tools to answer Google reviews (2026)

Short answer
For a single business that mostly gets Google reviews, ReplyHero, Localo, Trustindex and RightResponse AI are the obvious candidates: they publish their prices and offer a free plan or a trial. Birdeye and Partoo are broad platforms with pricing on request, mainly suited to chains. With any tool, check approval by star rating, your customers' languages and where the company is based.
Search for a tool that answers Google reviews with AI and you will find dozens of names. At first glance they all do the same thing: pick up a review, write a reply and post it. In practice they differ a lot in price, in how much control you keep and in everything else that comes bundled with them.
We compared six tools that a European business would realistically consider in 2026, including our own tool, ReplyHero. We only use what the vendors publish on their own websites. Prices checked on November 4, 2026. Where a competitor is stronger, we say so.
What should you look for in an AI tool for Google reviews?
Start with five things: the price for your number of locations, whether you can try it for free, whether replies go live automatically, how much control you keep over difficult reviews, and whether the tool speaks your customers' language. Extras such as reports or review requests only matter after that.
- Price per location: some tools charge per location, others per source or per package. Always work out what one year costs in your situation.
- Free plan or trial: a one-week trial tells you less than a plan you can use for months on real reviews.
- Auto-posting: handy when you get lots of positive reviews, risky for complaints unless you can fine-tune it.
- Approval: can you choose per star rating what waits for you and what goes live straight away?
- Languages and location: does the tool reply in the reviewer's language, and is the company based in the EU or not?
Quality matters more than speed. In a survey of 1,002 US consumers by BrightLocal (2026), templated or generic responses made 50% of respondents unlikely to choose a business. A tool that writes the same thank-you under every review can do more harm than good.

The table shows what each vendor publicly states for one location. If something is not on their website, we write not stated. Dollar amounts are shown as the vendor shows them; we do not convert anything.
Prices and features checked on November 4, 2026 on the vendors' websites. Check them yourself before you decide, because vendors change their pricing regularly.

Strengths of each tool and who it suits
Every tool on this list is the best choice for someone. The difference lies mainly in how broad the package is and what kind of business it was built for. Below is each tool's strongest point, based on its own website.
- ReplyHero: built for one job, answering Google reviews for local businesses. A free plan with no end date, per-location pricing in euros, three modes per location, and a check that never posts over a reply you already wrote yourself. Less suitable if you also want to answer Facebook or Tripadvisor: ReplyHero currently handles Google only.
- RightResponse AI: strong if you want replies backed by a library of approved business information, such as services, policies and offers. It pulls reviews from Google and more than 100 other platforms, supports 60+ languages, and also offers review requests, rank tracking and a Done For You service.
- Birdeye: the broadest package on this list. Reviews from more than 200 sites, rules per location and per rating, plus listings, social media, chat, surveys and appointments. A good fit for chains with many locations and a marketing team.
- Localo: a Polish local SEO suite in which reviews are one part, alongside rank tracking, post scheduling and a website builder. Worth a look if you also want to work on your own visibility in Google Maps.
- Trustindex: an affordable route to automatic replies on a single Google profile, through an add-on of 29 USD per source per year, and well known for website review widgets. Manual AI replies are part of the free package.
- Partoo: a French platform for networks of locations, bringing Google, Facebook and Tripadvisor reviews, a store locator and messaging together. A natural fit for franchises and retail chains in France and Belgium.
Not sure you need a tool at all? Read yourself, ChatGPT or a tool first. There we compare the three routes without naming brands.
Which tool fits your situation?
Start with your number of locations and whether you only want to answer Google. For one or a few businesses with mostly Google reviews, a focused tool with public pricing is enough. For a chain with ten or more locations on several platforms, a broad platform you request a quote for can pay off.
| Your situation | Look first at |
|---|---|
| One business, small budget, Google only | ReplyHero (free plan) or Trustindex (free package) |
| One business, you want positive reviews answered automatically | ReplyHero Starter, RightResponse AI Core or the Trustindex add-on |
| You want replies to use fixed business facts, such as parking or a booking link | RightResponse AI or ReplyHero |
| You are also working on your ranking in Google Maps | Localo |
| Reviews on many platforms, not just Google | RightResponse AI, Birdeye or Partoo |
| A chain with many locations and a marketing team | Birdeye or Partoo |
If you run several locations, also read managing reviews across multiple locations, because a per-location price adds up quickly.
How to test an AI tool in 5 steps
Test every tool on your own reviews, not on the examples on their website. Only switch on auto-posting once you have read ten to twenty replies and are happy with the tone, length and sign-off.
- Pick three real reviews: a complaint, a hesitant three-star review and an enthusiastic one.
- Let each tool answer the same three reviews. ReplyHero has a free preview that shows AI replies to your own Google reviews, and RightResponse AI and Localo also offer a free reply generator.
- Check whether the reply responds to what the customer wrote, or just says thanks.
- Set approval for one and two stars, or wider, and check whether the tool lets you do that per location.
- Work out the yearly price for your number of locations, in the currency you pay in, and ask about VAT.
What should you watch out for?
The biggest risks are not in the AI itself but in the settings: automatic replies to complaints, replies that replace your own text, and promises you cannot keep. Also check what the tool does with review requests, because Google has strict rules about them.
- Let negative reviews wait. A complaint deserves a person reading along. ReplyHero, RightResponse AI and Birdeye let you choose per rating what waits.
- Protect your own replies. If you already replied yourself, a tool should not replace it. Ask every vendor how they handle that.
- No promises on behalf of the business. An AI reply should never offer a discount or refund you have not decided on yourself.
- No incentives for reviews. Google prohibits rewards for reviews and asking only happy customers, see its content policy.
- Dollars and VAT. Three tools on this list show their prices in dollars. If you pay in euros or pounds, your bank converts, so the monthly amount can vary.
Example replies
Use them as a starting point and make them personal: mention something from the review and sign with your own name.
Negative review: a generic AI reply only says sorry, a good reply names the problem
Appointment at 2 pm, wasn't seen until 2:50. Nobody came to tell us it was running late.
Reply
Hi Karim, waiting fifty minutes without anyone letting you know should not have happened. We're sorry.
A treatment ran over that afternoon and we failed to update the waiting room. We've now agreed that we speak to waiting clients ourselves after ten minutes of delay.
Would you like us to book your next appointment at a quieter time? Just give us a call.
Best, Ilse
Mixed review: a generic reply ignores the criticism, a good reply addresses it
Great pizza, but the terrace was full and it was really noisy inside.
Reply
Thanks for your review, Natalie, and glad you enjoyed the pizza. On sunny evenings the terrace fills up fast, and inside it can get loud.
If you'd like a quieter meal, come before 7 pm or book a table at the back, where it's calmer. Hope to see you again soon!
Positive review: no standard thank-you, but a reply to what the customer mentioned
Brought my bike in with a flat tire and gears that kept slipping, fixed the same day. Brilliant!
Reply
Great to hear, Peter! A flat tire and gears that won't behave is a rough start to the week. Glad you were back on the road the same day.
If the shifting starts to feel stiff again after a few weeks, just drop by for a quick check. Happy riding!
ReplyHero for comparisons
ReplyHero reads the reviews on your Google Business Profile and writes a personal reply to every new review, in the tone you choose. For each location you decide how the reply reaches Google:
- Fully automatic: ReplyHero posts the reply right away.
- With a review window: the reply waits for you for 48 hours. If you do nothing, ReplyHero posts it.
- You approve: you read the reply in your portal and post it with one click, or edit it first.
Free forever for one location, or from $9 per location per month. Cancel any month. See pricing.
Start with ReplyHeroFrequently asked questions
What is the cheapest AI tool to answer Google reviews?
If you are happy to keep clicking yourself, the Trustindex free package and the ReplyHero free plan cost nothing. For automatic replies on one Google profile, the Trustindex add-on at 29 USD per source per year is the lowest figure we found. Do check whether it also requires a paid package. Checked on November 4, 2026.
Is there an AI tool that is genuinely free?
Yes. ReplyHero has a free plan for 1 location with 3 replies a month, where you approve every reply yourself. Trustindex has a free package with manual AI replies. RightResponse AI and Localo offer trials of 7 and 14 days and a free reply generator on their websites.
Can an AI tool post replies to Google automatically?
Yes. Google does not prohibit replies written with AI, as long as they follow the normal rules: not promotional and no private details about the reviewer. Ideally, let auto-posting apply only to positive reviews and have a person read complaints before anything goes live.
Does it matter whether the tool is a European company?
It can be a factor. ReplyHero (Belgium), Localo (Poland), Trustindex (Hungary) and Partoo (France) are based in the EU; RightResponse AI and Birdeye in the United States. Ask each vendor for its data processing agreement and where data is processed. This is not legal advice.
Which tool also answers Facebook and Tripadvisor reviews?
According to their websites, RightResponse AI, Birdeye, Trustindex and Partoo bring in reviews from several platforms. RightResponse AI posts directly to Google and lets you copy other replies and mark them as posted. ReplyHero and Localo currently focus on Google reviews only.
